This is my story...
For as long as I can remember I struggled to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up.
What was my calling, my purpose in life?
It was a constant nagging; I knew in my heart I wasn’t doing what I was meant for.
But I didn’t know what and I didn’t know how to figure it out. I had plenty of ideas, but I never saw any of them through. I was forever starting things and not finishing.
It felt like my life was passing me by and I was sitting on the sidelines.
Stuck. Disappointed in myself. And unfulfilled.
For years I took classes, read books, worked with coaches and counselors and did a LOT of self-reflection.
And suddenly something clicked.
It was as if I finally woke up… and got in the game. 🎉🕺
No Pun intended. Well, maybe. 😆
That was when I realized I was already doing it…
My whole life I’d literally been PLAYING; making games, adding some silly twist to events and coming up with creative ways to make meetings, gatherings and education fun.
What I thought was keeping me stuck and wasting time was actually the very thing that would launch me forward. 🚀
It brought people together, it got people engaged and enjoying what was typically mundane or boring.
Making unfun things fun. 🎈
People would constantly reach out to me for ideas on how to make their meeting or event fun. It comes so naturally to me I couldn’t see the forest through the trees.
I had a gift and I was finally ready to share it in a bigger way.
The best part is, the more I researched FUN and the benefits of Levity, Laughter, and Games the more I discovered how essential and impactful they are.
Not only does fun spark engagement, passion and motivation (something many companies are lacking) it has been proven to increase productivity and profitability as well as reduce turnover and employee absenteeism.
What? 😱
On top of that, it has enormous mental and physical benefits like reducing stress, improving overall mood, protecting your heart and boosting immunity just to name a few. (also HUGELY important these days!)
On the flip side, the implications of job burnout can be devastating. I probably don’t need to even explain how. 😵
You might already know because you might be living proof.
We spend more time AT WORK than anywhere else! And even the fact that it’s called WORK is part of the problem.
Work doesn’t have to be so much work. 🥴
If work can be fun, if we enjoy what we do, we do it with much more passion, focus and drive.
So now it’s my mission to help organizations and people bring some more fun and laughter to their lives and work. I feel so strongly about it, I walked away from my 25-year corporate career (- the last 14 spent climbing the ranks at a Fortune 100 company…) in the middle of a worldwide pandemic to follow this dream.
